passionateminutiae asked: Hey, first congrats on your success in changing your lifestyle! Its really inspiring.
I'm headed to NYC for a long weekend in March with my mom and sister-in-law (who has never been). My mom and I go about every other year, and typically just eat at whatever restaurants we walk past that look good. This time, I'd like to plan it a bit more. What are your favorite NYC restaurants? Ones where it is relatively easy to eat healthy would be great. (and I know you can eat healthy anyplace, but you know what I mean. Some are just easier than others)

Thanks!

Well, it’s always easy to do sushi fairly healthily, especially if you switch to brown rice. But as far as other yummy healthy places, I really like Josie’s, which has a really wide range of dishes. I also like Spring Street Natural, which I went to with Kendyl. It’s not quite as granola-y as the name makes it sound!

*Also - I’m trying to get through my questions, but I usually won’t answer more than one a day. A lot of readers - especially Tumblr people - don’t like reading a lot of them.*

About

After seven years (and probably 700,000 calories) of living in D.C., I moved to NYC in August 2008. After a few months of eating my way through the city, I realized this had to stop and nipped my temptations in the bud. Here's the story of how a girl lost 50 pounds in the most tempting city known to woman. My next big challenge is the Chicago Marathon. 10.10.10.
