Tri Gut Check: Avoiding Race Day GI Distress | Trifuel

mdfsmash:

An absolute MUST READ for anyone venturing into running/biking. I can’t tell you how much I’ve battled with figuring out what to eat and NOT EAT while running or even a few days before going for a run. Just last night my run was terrible because I ate red sauce for lunch. I didn’t even have a stomach ache, but when it came time to run, I didn’t have energy enough to run proper hill repeats because my body was focusing on my stomach instead of letting my blood carry oxygen to my muscles.

As someone with a weak stomach that’s trying to get more into running, I highly recommend this story. Maybe I can stop the race-day Immodium…

About Me

Foodbuzz

After seven years (and probably seven million calories) of living in D.C., I moved to NYC in August 2008. After a few months of eating my way through the city, I realized this had to stop and nipped my temptations in the bud. Here's the story of how a girl lost 50 pounds in the most tempting city known to woman. My next big challenge? The Chicago Marathon. 10.10.10.
