On meeting goals
Or, um, procrastinating packing. So tonight I had my last training session before Aruba. (Not my last training session.) Wow. 159 days ago (13,737,600 seconds, 228,960 minutes, 3,816 hours) I weighed 189.4 pounds. I had just decided to lose weight, and while I was telling myself that THIS WOULD BE THE TIME, deep down I hoped like hell it was, but it wasn’t the first time I had hoped that.

I should probably also change my Tumblr avatar to reflect my thinner face!
35
I do believe there was another pound missing when I got on the scale this morning, bringing the grand total to 35!
Size 6!
In advance of my Aruba trip this week (whoa!), I headed out to the suburbs for a little shopping with my mom. Among other things, I tried on a size 6 skirt in J. Crew. I ultimately ended up not getting it cause it was weird, but did it fit? OH HELL YEAH! I most definitely haven’t seen a size 6 on myself since high school. I tried REALLY hard to not jump up and down in the dressing room.

I’m watching this show on WE right now while I’m killing time before going to the trainer this morning. It’s about this dude, Charles Stuart Platkin, that does health interventions. The girl that’s on right now, Sherry, started at 201 pounds.
When I turned it on, he had her in a fat suit to have her be at the size she’d be at if she was 315ish pounds. She can barely...
Doing the right thing vs. having fun
Right now, I’m doing the former. I want to be doing the latter. Granted, I’m having some nice mellow time with my friend Bailey here right now, but being in your 20s is NOT about snuggling with your dog.
I have my second-to-last training session before Aruba tomorrow as well as a bikini wax in the morning. AAAAAND…when I get out of my training session, CASSIE WILL BE HERE! So...
A guest post! →
I know a lot of you probably have pretty strong feelings about Julia Allison. Well, I really enjoy reading her blog, so when she asked me to do a guest post about how I lost all this weight, I wasn’t going to say no! Anyway, you can read it on her site, and I’ll cross-post it here a bit later.

29!
Tonight Amy and I went into Century 21 after having a sorta bite to eat. She had dinner, I had soup and am going to make myself a chicken patty in a bit.
We tried on a bunch of jeans…and 29s fit me!!! There are many goals that I was confident of reaching once I started losing weight, but I seriously never thought size 29 jeans would fit me. I don’t even know if they would have fit me...
On transparency
I’ve been approached by a few brands that found my blog and pitched me on new products. As a journalist at heart, my words cannot be bought for any price, even free stuff. I’ll try anything any brand wants to send me, but you’ll always have my completely honest opinion.
Future of this here blog
So, I’m within ~15 pounds of my goal. Aruba is next week. Does that mean you’ll have to find something new to read every day? Oh hell no. I still plan to post most of what I eat, because I’m planning on maintaining a super-healthy lifestyle (though maybe slightly more relaxed), and I plan on (I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile, but alas, time got in the way!) doing...
TITFT: Things I'm Thankful for Thursday
I hereby propose Things I’m Thankful for Thursday as the next meme. :)
living within 4 blocks of both my gym and office. Makes things way easier when you go to get dressed and realize you forgot a regular bra and your dress is too low to get away with a sports bra.

Beware of sneaky sugar in your coffee! →
This is from an amNewYork blog post from last week about Tim Horton, but it applies to any kind of iced coffee. Many of the coffee chains like Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts put liquid sweetener in their iced coffee, which can add up to extra sugar, calories and pounds if you’re not careful. So be sure to ask for your iced coffee unsweetened. Save your calories for guacamole.

Just FYI, apparently the chestal area acne I thought I was getting was this weird rash, according to the doc.
It takes 4-6 weeks to go away, which is just awesome, as I am headed to Aruba in approximately 1 week, and wearing a strapless dress…
So…anybody know of any good body coverup??
Last night's dinner...
…was consumed on a date. Which would have made it difficult to photograph discretely. It was lobster though :)
So
To recap, I’m going to try to post some more recipes as I try to not hate this cooking thing, but I may need some help. What’s your favorite very-few-ingredient recipe? (Note: I can cook with more ingredients, I just don’t usually have very many, so let’s start off small.)
I've come a long way, baby!
I’m still trying to figure out how to get rid of the sports bra rash and I went looking on dailyburn.com for answers. Nada. However! I did find a before photo I had uploaded just three days before Christmas last year. Back when I weighed 189. I was wearing jeans and a bra and taking a photo of myself in the mirror with my iPhone (some things don’t change!). I don’t think...
Bathing suit shopping is only slightly less stressful after losing 32 pounds. Just FYI.
