Thankful For Turkey… and Sales

Happy belated Thanksgiving! I’ve had a really busy weekend of sitting in my PJs and shopping online, getting my nails done and getting my hair done. Priorities, people.

But I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family and some of my mom’s friends, so I just wanted to share a few pictures.

My contribution to the meal was Brussels sprouts. My mom told her friends that I was really into health and fitness…so I made them Brussels sprouts with butter, maple syrup and bacon.

My mom made deviled eggs.

Antipasto. (My dad did not crack his yearly “I’m pro pasta” joke, though.)

And spaghetti and meatballs, because a holiday without them is like a day without sunshine.

And here’s the lovely turkey.

I know not everyone can get home (or even wants to get home) for Thanksgiving, so I’m particularly thankful to live near my parents and to want to see them on Thanksgiving. A good friend lost her father just before Thanksgiving, so you better believe I hugged my parents a little closer this year and implored them to take good care of themselves so that they would be around for many more Thanksgivings. (And then I served them those Brussels. Oops.)

On a lighter note, here are some of my favorite sales I’ve been perusing this weekend:

Lilly Pulitzer: I know it surprises nobody I’ve been scouring this site even more than usual. They’re not doing any sales, but they are doing free gifts with purchase, such as limited edition totes or bangles.

J. Crew: 30% off with the code HOLIDAY. I’ve always loved J. Crew but usually avoid the accessories in the middle so that I don’t spend $100 without thinking about it picking up little tchotchkes, but they have a million little accessories now that would make for really good small gifts.

J. Crew Factory: This is LEGIT. 50% off everything with the code HOLIDAY50.

Kate Spade: This is always my favorite Black Friday sale. A few years ago, I got a really nice laptop bag that usually retails for $300+ for $150.

Sephora: No percentage off sitewide, but lots of deals on the site.

C. Wonder: 30% off with code GIFTS30.

Madewell: 25% off with code FEAST25

Target: A whole bunch of buy-one-get-one-50% off stuff on men’s and women’s clothes

New Balance: 15% off sitewide

Oiselle: 20% off orders of $150 or more + free shipping on everything

Road Runner Sports: 20% off with code FUN2013

How was your Thanksgiving? What are your favorite Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales?

The only one I really took advantage of was Anthropologie — 20% off everything on BF, 20% off on sale stuff through the weekend (ends Sunday). Kind of meh (they’ve had much better BF deals), but if there is something that you’ve been wanting, 20% helps take the sting out of their prices.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Those Brussels sprouts look AMAZING. I mean, most things with bacon do, but kudos. I might even be able to convince my mom to eat them with that recipe.

The only Black Friday sale I shopped was Cole Haan. I’ve been dying for a pair of leopard print pumps, and this one CH pair in particular. They were 30% off on Black Friday, so I treated myself. 🙂

(I do love Kate Spade’s sales this time of year, though. Last year, I got my sister an amazing tote for like $100.)

Oh heck yes to that J.Crew sale! I definitely picked up a few things there… and now I’m going to have to head over to Madewell 😉 And I love your “healthy” brussels contribution to Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone also says I’m super into health and fitness and then I bring a butter-filled chocolate cake to the party!

Loving that your contribution was Brussels and also love the non traditional Thanksgiving eats like the deviled eggs and the antipasti! I definitely should not shop that C Wonder sale since I already killed my wallet on Black Friday, and just recently shopped their flash sale, but one peek shouldn’t hurt…
