Running Happy.

Whoa. It’s been really serious up in here lately, eh?

So here’s a puppy.

And here’s some sunshine. (From Instagram, no filter!)

Whew. Much better.

My workdays have gotten even longer over the past six weeks, and getting workouts in has become more difficult. I haven’t been great at prioritizing my workouts.

But I’m getting back in the game.

I need to get back to morning workouts, since they make my day so much better, but night workouts are better than no workouts. I came home and busted out a speed workout:

1.5 miles at “easy pace” (6.2 on the treadmill)

4 x 400 (.25) intervals with :30 rest in between (8.5, 8.5, 8.5, 9.2!!)

1.5 miles at “easy pace” again (6.2)

Getting back in the game feels good. #willrunforsanity

What’s your favorite workout to cheer you up? Team morning or evening?

I would cuddle that puppy so.hard. It depends on the day what team I am. Sometimes it’s just easier to roll out of bed and pound something out without even thinking about it, but other days I NEED that evening run for sanity’s sake #10monthbabygirl

  2. Man, I cannot change. Mornings are for lifting, nights are for running!

Great job! Are you using a running coach this time around? Did you decide your goal race for the season?

Sounds like a great workout! We’re doing 4:30 a.m. workouts. Rough but good to get up and get it done.

I want to be a team morning o so bad but I have to be at work at 7 AM so I would have to wake up soo damn early!

I am team morning although I have been very grouchy about that lately. I really need to snap out of it soon.

  9. Team morning definitely!! But agreed that one after work is far better than none. An evening workout makes me want to curl up infront of the TV afterwards though?! I love a Body Pump class to get me out of a funk!

  10. Great workout. I did my first interval workout today. I had no idea where to start. I’m getting much better at being Team Morning and I love it. I always feel better when I work out in the morning!!

Definitely team morning! After work I’m exhausted and just want to collapse on the couch. It can be really hard to pull myself out of bed super early, but I’m always happy in the end.

I honestly am so impressed with how you work long hours and then fit in a workout – so much dedication, you should be proud of yourself. I’m Team Morning, but I can’t get myself out of bed at the moment so I’m currently Team Anytime!!

I’m currently Team Anytime trying to get back to Team Morning! The working long hours + fitting in a workout is only because it wouldn’t happen otherwise!

  13. I’m all about morning workouts because they DO get your day off on the right foot! But lately if I’m planning on running, it doesn’t happen first thing as I feel like I need a good meal before I go out so it either happens after breakfast (when I don’t work or don’t work until later) or in the afternoon.

Although it’s harder to get yourself out of bed, I’m definitely a Team Morning for workouts! Such a great start to the day!!!
