A Typical Day in Food For Me

Well, hello there. If you’re new, maybe we met this weekend. Glad to “see” you again. Or maybe you saw me tweeting some crazy things.

Or maybe you saw me on one of my blogging buddies’ blogs. Either way, welcome! You might want to check out my snazzy new about me page, my race recaps or my top posts. (Although the top posts desperately needs to be updated.)

You might also be wondering how I typically eat.

Well, my breakfasts are usually an English muffin with sunflower butter and a banana or oatmeal if I bring them from home to work.

If I forget to bring something to work, I’ll have the spinach feta wrap from Starbucks. I’m obsessed.

For lunch, I’ll either bring leftovers, or I’ll go to Pump and get one of their rice bowls with spinach, sweet potato, tomato, biston and a little cheese. (This one is a lot of cheese, but I digress.) I walk to work, and carrying gym clothes, breakfast and lunch can get kind of heavy, so I buy lunch out probably more often than I should.

For dinner, I’ll make something really simple like a stir fry over soba noodles.

I’m a pretty busy NYC lady, so I don’t cook as often as I’d like to, but I have learned to enjoy cooking more.

What does a typical day in food look like for you?

haha your tweet was funny! I actually saw it and giggled.. I understand the typical NYC eats as I am a busy NYC lady as well.. I end up snacking in the office a lot more than I should. Do you snack a lot? It’s so hard sometimes..

@Megan @ Megan Mumbles: I realized about two seconds after posting this I didn’t talk about snacks. I usually have a Larabar or a Luna bar and a piece of fruit for an afternoon snack. I also feel like I’ve sort of turned into somewhat of a grazer lately. I’ve had a lot of stomach issues, and so sometimes I just do a bunch of nibbling rather than a whole meal when my stomach is bothering me and I’m busy.

while we were in arizona this weekend I had spinach feta wraps for breakfast every day because there was a close starbucks and they truly are worthy of obsession.

@Emily: They put crack in them. I’m convinced of it. Also, I’m not sure why Starbucks isn’t paying me yet. I converted yet another person into a wrap lover this weekend.

The food you get from Pump always sounds/looks so good. I don’t get much take out mainly because I always feel like I can make whatever I get better myself and live really close to a grocery store!

Pump is amazing. I always think that whoever is cooking it when I get it out can do a way better job than me and grocery shopping in NYC usually isn’t much cheaper than takeout. At least that’s how I justify things…

I could definitely adapt your version of a healthy living (once in a while, anyway). 🙂 I find it frustrating sometimes though when the only available restaurant nearby is pricey and am very hungry.

I have never tried the spinach wraps and after reading your blog I’m almost afraid to try them! I don’t know if I can handle more of a starbucks obsession!
